Abstract:
This study reports an attempt to find out some of
the factors affecting the academic performance of
graduate students at the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate
School of Theology IN.E.G.S.TI. In order to achieve this
purpose an extensive review of the related 11terature was
scrutinized. These dealt with the following areas 1) The
effect of lack of finance on academic performance. 2) The
effect of age on academic performance. 3) The effect of
language proficiency effect of family performance. 5) The
on academic performance. 4) The responsibilities on academic effect of academic aspirations on academic performance. B) The effect of student-faculty interactions on academic performance.
The data collection involved the use of a questionnaire with both close-ended and open-ended questions. Some of the close-ended questions were developed using the Liker t: Scale of Summated Rating to
determine the opinion of the respondents. The questionnaire was administered directly by the researcher to twenty-seven graduate students. The research sought
to investigate some of the factors affecting the academic
performance of graduate students at N.E.G.S.T. The test
of the difference between the means ~f two independent
Sample groups was used as a statistical instrument to
test hypotheses.
