dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate in greater detail what constitutes short term missions in the Kenyan context, specifically in the university graduates context. The research was carried out as a case study and data gathered by mailing questionnaires to participants in the STE.i\t1program, conducting interviews for the administrators of the Program and gathering data from recorded information on the program. The findings revealed that short term missions in the university graduates context Involves a number of pertinent issues that determine their effectiveness. A well-defined strategy is the key to an effective program. This strategy would focus on such key areas as recruitment, training, placement, financial support, supervision and debriefing. The Findings also revealed that there is an impact of a changed life in the areas of missions related prayer, financial giving and missions education and activities. Further, the experience resulted in training, spiritual growth and a changed worldview. Based on these findings, there is need for a well-defined strategy for anyone engaged in short term missions. There is also need for further research into different aspects of short term missions that will throw more light on the concept in the African setting leading to effective programs. en_US
